It was World Elephant Day on Monday so we thought we would focus on Elephants and Elephant Parade for this Blog. As many of you will know Elephant Parade was created to raise money to support Elephants and their habitat in the wild. The inspiration came from seeing Mosha, an Asian Elephant who had her leg blown off by a landmine and needs regular prosthetics fitted. She now lives a happy life in Chiang Mai thanks to Elephant Parade.

Elephants Extinct in 30 Years??
Everyday Elephants in the wild find it hard and harder to survive freely as poachers take their toll, farmers protect their crops and wild habitation reduces at a rapid rate. Some experts predict that Elephants could in fact become extinct within 30 years if we don’t do something now.
20% of Profits Help Elephants
Elephant Parade is doing something by creating a commercial enterprise that donates 20% of its profit to Elephant Projects. To do this they organise Tours and Auctions of full size Replica Elephant around the world which in itself raises hundreds of thousands of pounds. Then they develop smaller replica hand painted limited edition versions of the big designs and sell them around the world.
Limited Edition Replicas
All Elephant Replicas are handpainted by skilled craftspeople in the Chiang Mai Factory in Thailand, given a certificate and hologram of authenticity together with a limited edition number and then packed in a beautiful black gift box making them the perfect present.

Mosha – The Inspiration
Elephant Parade was founded by father and son Marc and Mike Spits in 2006. Whilst on holiday in Thailand, Marc met a baby elephant named Mosha, who had lost part of her leg after stepping on a landmine. Mosha inspired Marc and Mike to create Elephant Parade and, since then, they have raised hundreds of thousands of pounds in aid of supporting Elephants in the wild. Every Elephant Parade replica and product bought contributes toward their mission of ensuring Elephants do not become extinct at any time let alone in 30 years!
