Like any material there are a multitude of different plastics around and, as is often the case, the worst examples give the rest a bad reputation. Plastic can be superb, plastic can be irreplaceable, plastic can be environmentally friendly, plastic can be part of everyone’s lifestyle. The plastic compound used by Pappelina is the best around, we won’t bore you with science, though we could!, but simply tell you that from the raw material to the finished rug all production processes take place either in Germany and Sweden under the strictest of controls.

Ribbons of raw PVC plastic are combined with warp and woven on traditional, and original, Jacquard mills creating the most beautiful designs whether brightly vibrant or subtly tonal.
So why is it the new wool? Well to be honest for lots of great reasons you’ll love!
YOU’LL JUST LOVE ITS SOFTNESS AND PURITY
It’s soft, it’s pliable, it’s warm, it’s springy underfoot, it’s durable and it’s exceedingly comfortable even for new born… chicks! Seriously it’s so tactile and safe babies will love it.
It has no fibres to trap dust, pollen particles or dirt nor does it absorb water creating fungal spores and damp molds… this makes it perfect for allergy and asthma sufferers as well as every wet room and situation you can think of… even underwater!
It’s just so easy to clean any way you want! It’s stain resistant (tomato ketch-up excepted), non-absorbent, never smells, brush and hoover friendly, in fact you can throw it in the washing machine (check the weight capacity) or even take the jet washer to it. Once washed simply give them a gentle stretch and hang them up to dry. Never will you own a rug so clean!
WHERE TO USE YOUR STUNNING PAPPELINA RUGS
So where else in the home can you use them apart from the Bathroom mentioned above… well the simple answer really everywhere, anywhere you’d like to and you have some floor space. Whether on tiles, stone, lino, carpet, with or without underfloor heating, Pappelina rugs will lie comfortably wherever you put them.
SLEEP AND BREATHE LESS POLLUTION
Let’s start with the bedroom; be it modern, traditional, feminine, masculine, Pappelina will have a runner or rug to suit any space and remember they are warm to the touch, soft under foot, and dust and smell repellent.
From the bedroom to the kitchen where cleanliness is everything. Whatever you might drop on the rug, however cold, hot, sticky or messy, your Pappelina rug will clean easily and look as good as new within moments. We do recommend ketch-up spills are wiped off immediately as they can stain. Non-slip, within reason, it’s great on hard surfaces, even with underfloor heating, and helps the tone and feel of the room. And remember it doesn’t hold or absorb smells so its perfect whatever you drop on it!
EATING WITHOUT WORRYING ABOUT SPILLS
So to the dining room where, again, Pappelina rugs attributes of being easy clean and non smell absorbing are really great and irreplaceable benefits. As mentioned they soften the feel of the floor and look of the room but larger sized rugs neatly underline and enhance the actual dining area so make sure yours is measured to go not just under the table but allow for the chairs too. It is generally recommend you have around 92cm (36.0ins) between the edge of your table and other furniture or the wall. This provides enough room for someone to walk behind the chairs while others are seated or to open a door on a nearby cabinet. For a chair to move in and out whilst still on the rug you should allow approximately 70cm (27.5ins). So if you have a table say 178x90cm (6x3ft) then you would need a rug around 250x160cm so the 260x180cm size would be totally perfect!
ADD BOLD COLOUR OR SIMPLY SHADES OF COLOUR
From dining to relaxing in your personal space … the living room. Here Pappelina rugs can help you create your own ambience from brightly coloured wake up looks to more subtle laid back themes to contemporary to traditional, in fact to any look you desire! We use loads of rugs at our homes and some are in front of open fireplaces which work really well. Easy to clean dust, dirt and ashes from they also protect your carpet or wooden floor. They are totally fire resistant so will not burst into flames, great for safety. Also an ember may melt the threads but will not burn through nor cause the area to blacken…we know as we have several almost invisible marks on ours! A woollen rugs of course blackens, burns straight through and will catch fire.

On our way out of the home we come to the hall, a high traffic area with lots of potential for dirt from muddy shoes, boots and paws. Cleaning is never an issue as we know but now the strength and durability of the Pappelina rug comes into play… they will last almost forever and, providing you clean them regularly, look as good as new forever. In fact the cost of a Pappelina rug, reasonable we feel in the first place, is repaid many times over as it will last and last and last especially against woollen alternatives!
And so to the outdoors where again Pappelina rugs and their PVC woven plastic come into their own. Easy clean, warm, soft, substantial, durable, tough are all great attributes for anything outside especially in the British climate! But Pappelina rugs offer more … they are not only totally rain, and seawater, resistant and mud repellent but also highly sun resistant, we actually don’t know of a case where colour has faded and that’s in 20 years! Use them on your patio, by gates, to create a path on grass, around the swimming pool (or in the sauna or spa!) or simply as a picnic blanket, they’re great and will never let you down!
