Which Teapot will last a lifetime? This is a question that we get asked quite often and, obviously, there are many answers! First we should stress that all our Bredemeijer Teapots are designed and made to the highest standards using the best components. So, properly cared for, they should all last a lifetime or beyond! Our Teapots are produced from 4 main materials, all the best in their class:
Stainless Steel
Cast Iron
Borosilicate Glass
Porcelain
To last a lifetime all our teapots require a “tlc”, tender loving care, and the main points to note are:
* Not to drop them! Borosilicate Glass, Cast Iron and Porcelain will all break if dropped from a height, stainless steel will dent and, if painted, likely chip, so keep good hold at all times!
* To avoid dishwashing even if marked dishwasher safe. Dishwashing will potentially dull the surface over time, hand washing will keep it looking brand new for life!
* To regularly treat for limescale to maintain drip free pouring from the spout, to ensure tight lid fitting and to keep the filter flowing!
* To leave the lid completely off when drying and when storing to allow air to circulate thus ensuring no build up of microbes or mould by keeping the inside bone dry and germ free!
So, in short, providing you take good, sensible care of your Teapot, then any one of our beautiful Bredemeijer Teapots will last a lifetime and beyond… so now it is simply a matter of choosing the material, the size and the look that best suits your style. We are of course always happy to help.

- Will break if dropped from a height
- Their smooth surface makes them easy to clean and they are dishwasher-safe
